Harmony Dance Academy

Harmony Dance Academy (HDA) was founded in 2012 by Vanessa Aird. As an Educator for over 15 years, it has been her life’s work to aid youth in reaching their full potential by first gaining a better understanding of self; all through the power of dance. It has been her dream for years to create a dance program that is inclusive, educational and affordable; free from all biases. There is nothing more rewarding than materializing this dream in her hometown of Brooklyn, New York; where the need is not only palpable, but undeniable. It was in a small dance studio on Church Avenue that her passion was first realized. Brooklyn has given Ms. Aird so much and in turn she would like to give back to the very neighborhoods that nurtured her as a child and young adult. From it’s inception, HDA has reached out those that are less fortunate, yet have a true desire to dance and therefore ensures that the program fee is and remains minimal. As a result, HDA intentionally focuses on underserved neighborhoods such as Flatbush, East Flatbush, Bed Stuy & Crown Heights. From it’s humble beginnings in a small classroom in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn, HDA has now spread it’s wings to reach youth as far as Grenada, West Indies and Port Elizabeth, South Africa.

KaGra Foundation

The KaGra Foundation was started in 2018 due to witnessing the needs of the poor and indigent in the society. The KaGra Foundation is committed to the needs of families by helping them to secure benefits through Medicare, Medicaid, and various feeding programs. The needs are great and resources are shrinking, however, the urgency to keep families equipped with the capacity to be self-sufficient is a constant reminder for this foundation to be proactive. The ultimate goal is to create independence for families so that they do not become dependent on a system that is already struggling with resources.
